Physical Education
PE & Health and Fitness
Our vision within our PE curriculum is to provide an opportunity for sporting excellence, life-long health and well-being through high quality lessons and extra-curricular activities. Within Physical Education and Health and Fitness we value physical activity, the role it has to play in
promoting healthy active lifestyles and the positive impact it has on physical, mental and social
wellbeing. Our department vision statement provides the purpose for everything we offer in our
high quality, varied yet traditional PE curriculum throughout Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
In the Physical Education department we take pride in our carefully sequenced curriculum and extra-
curricular opportunities we provide to all of our students which allows them to positively build
confidence and competency in a range of sports and activities. This is evidenced by the high levels of
student enjoyment and engagement.
The positive experiences throughout Key Stage 3 signpost students to further opportunities in the
form of Key Stage 4 core and examination PE, which allow them to build on previously developed
knowledge and skills, and encourage lifelong participation in sport and physical activity.
