Ski Blog - Day 5
Day 4 of skiing was always going to be a tough one, with students starting to feel the aches and pains of the previous three days, but everyone was off the nursery slopes and the level of improvement across the board was incredible! A massive well done to Molly, who was ill at the start of the week, but she made it out onto the slopes yesterday afternoon and today with the biggest smile in Italy. Other congratulations go to:
- Daniel who mastered the parallel turn today;
- Toby, Masie and Imogen who made a very difficult descent;
- Maddy who showed great resilience in getting up and having another go after a rather scary descent!
After the lessons were over, students took the Gondola all the way to the top of the mountain to appreciate the perfect, blue skies and breath-taking views across the Alps. As the sun set over the mountains, we headed back down to the hotel to get ready for a night of karaoke and dance floor classics!
TMBS know how to party and costumes included The Pink Ladies, The Four Seasons, Mean Girls and Clueless. Even those that didn’t feel the urge to don their fancy dress attire got into the spirit of things, with group renditions of classics such as Queen, the Spice Girls and the Killers. Mr Morrow would have been proud of those vocal talents displayed and Mrs Donlan has some serious talent coming through the school (we will have to check if the Cha Cha Slide is on the syllabus…) The night ended with a group conga going through the reception of the hotel led by Toby, and Mr Kendrick challenging Sam to a caterpillar dance contest. Unfortunately, the songs finished before any dance contest could occur… but there’s always Thursday night!
