Ski trip blog Day 5

Day 5

The weather had lifted slightly today, however there was constant snow fall throughout.  This meant slightly different skiing conditions and some very rosy cheeks.   It was also the morning of the big slalom ski race and students got their bibs on ready to take on the stopwatch.   Winners in each group were: Maya, Charlie, Dipesh, Harry, Will and Harvey and the overall winner, with a winning time of 19.66 sec and taking the school trophy, was Phin.

This afternoon saw a few students feeling the effects of a week’s skiing, late nights and early mornings and they were struggling to keep up the pace in ski school.  They were treated by Mrs Lane to a trip up the gondola to Bormio 3000 for a hot chocolate and a look at the view.  While some were having a relaxing afternoon, the skiers were negotiating the powder snow, with a few tumbles along the way, but no injuries.    

The final evening entertainment saw the penultimate trip down the mountain to the disco.  The ski instructors met us there and the medal presentation was the first event of the evening, along with the video footage of the week from the instructors.  This was swiftly followed by music, dancing and singing, with the top performers being Abbie, Ben, Luca, Lyndsey, Sam, Harry and Megan.   A great evening was had by all!
