Library
Our library is a welcoming environment that is open throughout the school day for quiet reading and study. With over 8,000 books on our shelves there is plenty of choice for readers at all levels.
KS3 and KS4 students have regular library sessions as part of their English curriculum to develop their reading, research and analytical skills.
Facilities:

- Well stocked and maintained collection of over 23,000 resources, including reference and careers materials
- A variety of fiction and non-fiction books
- Computer and printer access for homework
- Regular competitions, such as 'Author of the Week', throughout the school year
Activities:
A wide range of activities are available throughout the school year including:

- Library Services for Education book talks
- Carnegie book groups
- Scholastic Book Fairs

Borrowing Books:
Students can have two books on loan for a period of two weeks. Books needed for a longer period, should be brought in and reissued. Additional books may be borrowed if required for projects or homework. Any lost books must be replaced or paid for.

Every student is given personal login details, which enables them to write reviews about books they have read, reserve books and keep track of their current and past loans.

Is a daily news service, where the most important news of the day is presented in a clear and easily accessible format, containing suitable and relevant topics to stimulate discussion and engage students. News analysis and features are written to raise students’ awareness and understanding of the ‘big issues’.
Scholastic Teen Book Club
The Scholastic Teen Book Club gives students and parents a chance to buy books at competitive prices. There is an exciting selection of the latest books for all tastes and abilities, so there’s something to suit everyone. For every £1 spent the School Library will receive 25p in Scholastic Rewards, which will help to increase our range of library resources.
